NCAA penalties for the University of Iowa athletes who violated sporting activities betting guidelines are starting to roll in this week.
Iowa’s athletic department issued a statement Tuesday sharing that official determinations on the 11 existing university student-athletes facing investigation have been handed out, though the specifics of those people suspensions weren’t produced general public by the college.
“The College of Iowa and the UI Athletics Section have been doing work cooperatively with the NCAA Student-Athlete Reinstatement (SAR) staff members to identify the eligibility of university student-athletes who were concerned in sporting activities wagering,” the assertion reported. “The establishment has been given the SAR determinations for the 11 men and women who are existing pupil-athletes.”
