who is favored to win the 2024 heisman trophy?
There’s been a lot of action in the transfer portal and oddsmakers think a new atmosphere will do certain names some good. However, the top three favorites stay loyal to their schools.
quinn ewers (+750)
The last couple of seasons, Quinn Ewers has always been in early Heisman talks. He got as close to a sniff at +750 odds this year. However, it’s always guys that come close to a CFP spot and considered more experienced that end up passing him. Well, now the junior will be the experienced guy.

The Texas native definitely improved over the course of an offseason, finishing the year with 3,479 yards and 27 total touchdowns. He put up a noble effort in the Sugar Bowl semifinals 37-31 loss to Washington. Also, he got bragging rights for taking down a No. 3 Alabama in Week 2.
But perhaps off the field is where Ewers has the Heisman attitude, being called a visible leader by Steve Sarkisian and admired by back-up Arch Manning. Could it finally be his time to earn a spot as a finalist? I think so. His playing will ultimately determine whether he hoists the hardware.
Heisman Trophy Value picks
Incredibly early odds just equals incredible profit. Here’s some eager value picks for you to consider.
jalen Milroe (+750)
What does Alabama look like without Saban? The coach led the program from 2007 to 2023, spending his last season being knocked out of the CFP by Michigan. Saban has vowed to show up and help the coaches and athletes through the transition. Perhaps that’s why oddsmakers predict the group won’t skip a beat, with QB Milroe sitting inside the top three contenders.

The Texas native definitely got more comfortable in his role as the season progressed, tossing 17 touchdowns after Week 4 and rushing in another eight.
It’s not easy being thrown into a quarterback position on a reputable Tide squad, especially managing the criticism, but Milroe is proving he can handle it. He’ll just be better and more composed entering next season.
DJ Uiagalelei (+2500)
Well, here’s my longshot value pick for you! DJ Uiagalelei has been school hopping desperate to find a perfect fit. He opened his college career at Clemson before politely being shown the door. Then, he has solid success at Oregon State with 2,638 yards and 27 total touchdowns. But, the Pac-12 realignment has left the Beavers in the dust.
Now, using the transfer portal, Uiagalelei will replace Jordan Travis at Florida State. Luckily, despite the conference realignment, the ACC isn’t getting more difficult with schools like California, Stanford and SMU joining.

Who Was The 2023 Heisman Trophy Winner?
Out of the four finalists, Jayden Daniels was named the winner despite being the only candidate from a team ranked outside the top 10.
The senior recorded over 3,800 passing yards and 40 touchdown passes and threw for three or more scores in nine of his 12 performances. He posted a 95.6 QBR, the best number in the nation. The California native has declared for the upcoming NFL draft.
Heisman Trophy Historical Odds
By now, everyone is aware that LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow won the Heisman Trophy in 2019. But did you know his odds to win the Heisman Trophy prior to the start of the season were +4000?
That’s the best part of betting on this prop. Players can be huge underdogs before the season starts and emerge from nowhere to take the spotlight. At some sportsbooks, Burrow wasn’t even listed as a Heisman candidate until after LSU’s second game.

Making A Futures Bet
A futures bet is a wager made on events or milestones that will happen in time. The Heisman bet is a form of futures betting because you are making a pick based on an outcome determined at the end of NCAA football season. The trophy is given out in mid-December and if you want to get a bigger payout, it’s best to lock in your bets sooner rather than later so you can take advantage of better odds. The closer it gets to Heisman voting, the more the odds will change.
How To Read Heisman Trophy Odds
The above chart features the odds for each top player in college football. At your sportsbook of choice, the betting lines would look something like this:
Quinn Ewers +500
Carson Beck +800
Jalen Milroe +1000
This means that Ewers is the favorite since he has the lowest odds and the highest chance of winning the prop, according to oddsmakers. If you were to bet $100 on Ewers and he won, you would get a payout of $600 – your original $100 is returned along with your winnings of $500.
On the other hand, if you strongly believe that Jalen Milroe is going to win the Heisman at Alabama, a winning $100 bet on him would yield $1,100 – your $100 comes back along with your prize of $1,000.
Our Odds Calculator will show you how much you’d win based on the odds and amount bet.
